Underwriting: Community Radio entertains and informs its listeners with music and news. Our listeners are loyal supporters who appreciate community radio. They appreciate the non-commercial direct approach our sponsors use to promote their businesses and services, and our listeners appreciate our sponsors’ support of the station.

What Is Underwriting?  KNIZ 90.1 FM, Gallup, NM acknowledges business contributions to the station with on-air announcements called "underwriting." Underwriting is to public radio what advertising is to commercial stations. These tax deductible underwriting grants help defray the cost of programming and broadcasting.

How Does Underwriting KNIZ Programming Help Your Business or Organization?  By underwriting KNIZ programming, you can put radio to work throughout Gallup for your business, organization or non-profit. 

What Are the Other Benefits of Underwriting? An underwriting contribution to KNIZ is a tax-deductible contribution and not subject to sales tax. Because KNIZ’s programming is delivered commercial-free, your message is heard loud and clear, without commercial clutter. Just as you, the underwriter, support KNIZ, loyal listeners will in turn support your business.

How Affordable is Underwriting? You can market your business or organization for $20 for a 20-second underwriting announcement. Discounts are available for high-volume underwriting campaigns.

Can Non-Profits Underwrite Programming? Yes, KNIZ has a special program for non-profits and governmental organizations.

Non-profit announcements are 30 seconds and cost $20.

For every three announcements purchased, KNIZ will add one bonus announcement at no charge.

What Are the Underwriting Guidelines? Announcements can provide a value-neutral description of business and type of goods and/or services offered.

Announcements for concerts and other events can include: artist or event name, date, time, place, and where tickets are available.

Announcements can provide business location, phone and web site information.

Announcements may not include a call to action.

Announcements may not include price or value information.

Announcements may not include inducement to buy, sell, rent or lease.

Political advertising for political candidates or ballot measures is not permissible.

Short Term: $20/spot 4 minimum

13-24 over 3 months: $10/spot

25-49 over 3 months: $8/spot Specify Drive time or Shop Time $9/spot

50-100 over 3 months: $7/spot Specify Drive time or Shop Time $8/spot

100-200 over 3 months: $6/spot Specify Drive time or Shop Time $7/spot

200-300 over 3 months: $5/spot Specify Drive time or Shop Time $6/spot

Drive time is 7-10 am and 4-6 pm. Shop time is 10 am- 4 PM and 6 PM -10 PM,

Purchase 6 months and get 10% off. Purchase a year and receive an additional 10%.
